Home Depot lists the Nexgrill 5-Burner as their best seller. I’m not surprised. It is big, packed with knobs, and promises so much more than the other gas grills sitting next to it. However, the startling truth is that the Nexgrill 5-Burner Propane Gas Grill is lightweight everywhere except the cooking grates. Even more, these cooking grates don’t have the best quality porcelain coating. This causes them to crack and fall away, exposing the cast iron underneath and inviting a bad case of rust.
Is the Nexgrill 5-Burner Grill worth it?
Why does it matter? This Nexgrill 5-Burner costs about $350 and is typically on sale for less. But for that price, it’s best not to expect much. If you’re planning to replace your grill in a year or two, this might be the right purchase. On the other hand, there are more durable grills at the same list price.
The warranty for this Nexgrill is only valid for one year. Many customers have expressed their dissatisfaction with broken or prematurely worn parts in Home Depot’s review section. While Nexgrill does offer replacement parts during the first year, these parts could cost as much as the original grill after that.
