Full Review – Broil King Imperial XLS Built-in Gas Grill
PROS
- Packed with Extras
- Very Versatile
- Good Rotisserie System
- Good Burners
- Side Burner Included
CONS
- Weak Side Burner
The Broil King Imperial XLS Built-In is a large built-in gas grill with two independent cooking chambers: one with four burners and one with two burners.
This grill comes with a full rotisserie system with a rear-mounted non-infrared burner and a side burner module. Although the side burner is not terribly powerful, it is still a valuable addition. The independently mounted side burner, separate from the main grill, offers unparalleled convenience.
It is one of the most versatile gas grills on the market. You can operate the rotisserie while grilling steaks in the other chamber or grill hot and fast on one side and low and indirect on the other. If these advantages sound good, then this is an excellent grill to consider. If the two lids and divided cooking space don’t appeal to you, try the Broil King Imperial 490.
Broil King Imperial XLS Stand Out Features
Mechanically, this grill’s two standout features are dual tube stainless steel burners and linear flow control valves. The dual-tube burners equalize the gas pressure inside the burner to ensure even heat distribution. Unlike standard tubular burners, which often have higher pressure in the front and uneven heating, the Broil King burners solve this problem.
The control valves on this grill have an even, highly precise flow that produces a high level of heat control. With the four-burner design, this grill allows you to choose an exact temperature from very high to very low.
The Broil King Imperial XLS is well-constructed and should last for many years. This manufacturer is known for making superior grills.
