Full Review – Weber Q 1000 Portable Gas Grill
Originally labeled the “Baby-Q” this small member of the Q family is an well constructed gas grill that offers plenty of space and power for its size. What makes the Weber Q-1000 work is its construction. It has a cast aluminum body that retains heat and a heavy, porcelain-coated cast iron cooking grate to transfer heat to the food. This grill functions like a full-sized unit but in a portable size, offering 189 square inches of cooking space, large enough to grill several steaks at once.
Weber invested 5 years in developing this line of portable grills. Despite the approximately $230 price tag, you’ll get a high-quality grill. Given its popularity, I expect this product to be available for a long time.
Weber Q-1000 Portability
Because of its construction, the Weber Q-1000 is a heavy grill. This grill is perfect for trips to the beach or park and not well suited for carrying long distances. It’s a great choice for apartment dwellers who desire a gas grill but lack the space for a larger one.
The only difference between the Weber Q-1000 and the Q-1200 is the fold-out side tables. If you’re planning to place the grill on a table, the side tables won’t be of much use. I suggest saving money by opting for the Q-1000 instead of the Q-1200.
