Best Built-in Gas Grills over $6,000 for 2023

,

We have reached the pinnacle of outdoor kitchen grills. These are the best of the best and the most expensive. The prices on this list range from just over $6,000USD to over $15,000. The Best Built-in Gas Grills over 6000 are the types of gas grill inserts that would fit into outdoor kitchens costing tens of thousands of dollars. Most of these grills are part of a much larger line of appliances, cabinetry, and accessories that can build an outdoor kitchen capable of doing everything. Capable of satisfying the pickiest of chefs, I have selected the grills that do what they are supposed to as well as possible. That is the grill. Most of these models come with full rotisserie systems and all a constructed of the highest quality materials. When building an outdoor kitchen it is best to start with the grill. That is the heart of the installation. Also remember, you donโ€™t have to pick all the pieces from a single product line. I know that in the most expensive constructions it is nice to have matching appliances, but it isnโ€™t vital. Be selective and make the most of your investment.

Not all of the most expensive products are the best, but in this case, it is true. The Kalamazoo Hybrid Grill is practically all things to everyone. Capable of burning practically anything, while remaining fundamentally a gas grill, it has more versatility than two of the second-best grills on the market. Of course, this unit sells for over $15,000, making it well over twice as much money as the next grill on this list. It is in the attention to detail and construction quality that this grill excels. The cooking grates are cut from a quarter-inch stainless steel plate. The certified lead-free cast brass burners weigh in at 14 pounds a piece. On the inside of the front panel of this grill are the signatures of everyone who worked on building each unit (not printed, actually signed). This is the ultimate grill for the ultimate griller.

Fire Magic is the most innovative grill maker in the industry and they make one of the widest ranges of outdoor kitchen appliances. This, the largest and most powerful of their grills will run about $7,000. It includes four cast stainless burners capable of producing more than 110,000 BTUs of heat under more than a thousand square inches of cooking surface. That’s more than seven square feet. Each burner can be tasked with a different cooking function and infrared burners are available as well as trays that can hold wood chips or charcoal. For those not willing to spend $15,000USD on a gas grill, this is the best choice on the market.

Twin Eagles 54-Inch

Beauty is, of course, in the eye of the beholder, but I believe that objectively the Twin Eagles’ grills are the most attractive on the market. This goes for the entire product line in fact. Engineer and designer Dante Cantal (also the original founder of Lynx Grills) is the driving force behind these grills and this 54-Inch model produces 100,000 BTUs from four main burners under 1,000 square inches of stainless steel grilling surface. The elegance of the design extends well beyond the appearance as this grill relies on the simplicity of engineering to deliver incredible grilling capabilities without piling on the gimmicks. Still, this model also comes with a full rotisserie system and a dedicated smoker burner.

Alfresco ALXE 56-Inch

As part of one of the largest lines of outdoor kitchen appliances, this model from Alfresco might not be as inspired as the Twin Eagles above, but it is a powerhouse grill with 110,000 BTUs from its four main burners, one of which is standard as infrared. There are two, independently controlled rear-mounted rotisserie burners and the rotisserie system is hidden and chain driven. It is possible to put a chicken on the rotisserie and still have half the grillโ€™s nearly 1,000 square inches of cooking space to grill something else. This model also includes a smoker tray and a dedicated smoker burner.

Lynx 54-Inch

Lynx is another of the great gas grill manufacturers. They have a heritage that runs through the industry in multiple directions. I can promise you that buying this grill, which typically retails for around $6,500USD would not be a mistake. This very large, four-burner unit produces nearly 100,000 BTUs under a little more than 1,100 square inches of stainless steel cooking area. It has cast brass burners, some of the best in the industry, and a unique infrared burner that is better at distributing the intense heat of infrared. There is a full rotisserie system, and like everything else on this list, the Lynx outdoor kitchen line is extensive and of the highest quality.

Hestan 42-Inch

At just over $7,000USD, this is the least expensive model on this list (they do make a 50-Inch model as well). Hestan is relatively new to the outdoor kitchen market and they offer some very unique features, most obviously that this model can be had in many different colors. This four-burner model can produce 100,000 BTUs under 782 square inches of laser-cut stainless steel plate grilling surface. As a factor of BTUs per square inch, this is one of the most powerful grills on this list. There is a full rotisserie system included and the infrared rotisserie burner is top-mounted, meaning its heat is focused down instead of out. The rotisserie burner can actually double as a salamander burner for cooking the tops of foods much the way professional kitchen equipment can. There is a full line of outdoor kitchen appliances from Hestan, and this grill would be an excellent choice for any built-in application.

American Made Grill 54-Inch

American Muscle Grill 54-Inch Built-in Gas Grill

Like that Kalamazoo at the top of this list, the American Muscle Grill is a hybrid grill. It has powerful gas burners, but will also burn charcoal or hardwood. Built to look something like a 1969 Shelby GT 350 Mustang, this grill is packed with muscle. The five main burners can generate 176,000 BTUs under 1091 square inches of stainless steel cooking area. With all this power, on gas alone, it can hit ridiculous temperatures in minutes and is constructed to take the punishment. As a built-in, this product is a bit of a standalone item. While there are extras for a custom outdoor kitchen application (like a side burner and some basic cabinetry) the line is not as complete as the other products on this list.

Viking Professional Series 5 36-Inch

There is a very good reason that Viking falls to the bottom of this list. Yes, I know it is one of the most recognized names in cooking appliances, but there is something wrong with this grill. It has the wrong name on the front. The truth is, Viking doesn’t make gas grills. They never have. Arguably, they don’t make much, particularly outdoor kitchen equipment. This gas grill is made by Viking’s sister company, Lynx. Thing is, you can buy this same gas grill with the Lynx name on the front for less money. Don’t pay more for a name tag.
