What you’ll need
- Regular chili powder
- Hot chipotle chili powder
- Brown sugar
- Black pepper
- Coarse salt
- Cayenne
- White sugar
- Granulated garlic
How to make and use this chipotle rib rub
- Combine seasoning rub ingredients in a medium-sized bowl.
- For finer textured chipotle rib rub. Transfer the mixture to a food processor (or spice grinder) and grind to your preferred consistency.
- Apply to pork ribs and let stand for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Make this chipotle rub ahead of time and store it in an airtight container in the cupboard for 3-6 months.
- Check on it periodically to ensure the brown sugar has not dried out. Stir it, seal it tightly and return it to the cupboard.
- Discard any rub that has come into contact with raw meat.
