We recommend using real maple syrup for a truly mouthwatering experience. These chops are great for any occasion and perfect for dinner parties or weeknight meals!

Why should you use maple syrup to flavor pork chops?

Maple syrup adds a hint of sweetness that balances the pork’s natural flavor, creating a satisfying combination.

How to Make Grilled Maple Pork Chops:

  • Preheat your grill for 350 degrees F.  Have a reliable instant read thermometer nearby, you are going to need it!
  • Warm maple syrup in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Combine glaze ingredients, cover, and set aside.
  • Blot the pork chops dry with paper towels and brush with oil.
  • Combine seasoning and apply evenly to both sides of pork chops.
  • Place chops onto the grill and cook for 20-22 minutes. Watch for flare-ups, adjust heat, or move chops to a cooler part of the grill and finish cooking indirectly.
  • After the first 10 minutes, start applying glaze every 3-4 minutes until chops are done.
  • Once chops have reached an internal temperature of 150 degrees F., remove from grill and loosely tent with aluminum foil. Let chops rest for 5-7 minutes.
  • Serve these grilled maple pork chops garnished with your herb of choice. Lightly drizzle (just a little bit!) with warmed maple syrup and serve.

Pork Chop FAQs:

  • Can I use different chops? Yes, you can use different chops. I recommend either boneless or bone-in loin chops. You can also make this recipe using thick-cut pork chops or tomahawk pork chops. You will need to increase your cooking times if using larger chops.
  • What should I serve with Grilled Maple Pork Chops? The beauty of these chops is that they go so well with any side dish. You can serve it with rice, quinoa, or something more “stick to your ribs” like my recipe for Pellet Grill Funeral Potatoes or Pellet Grill Baked Potatoes. Also, try my Grilled Zucchini Skins or Cauliflower Steaks.
  • What kind of grill can I use? Any outdoor grill will work for this recipe. I recommend charcoal, but I have made this recipe on a pellet grill and a gas grill too with great results!
  • Can I make these pork chops in the oven? Yes, you can! Bake the chops in a parchment-lined pan for 10 minutes at 400 degrees F. Remove chops from the oven. Reduce the oven heat to 350 degrees F., and coat the chops on both sides with the maple mixture. Place the pan with the chops back into the oven and continue baking for 20-25 minutes (depending on thickness) until the chops reach an internal temperature between 150-155 degrees F. Watch for burning.
