MHP or Modern Home Products is one of the original gas grill makers. Their experience goes back decades and they have been committed to one primary goal, making the most durable gas grill on the market. In the early day, gas companies provided gas grills so you would use their product, natural gas. These grills needed to be foolproof and durable. The gas companies didn’t want to maintain these grills so they were built to never break down. MHP still builds its grills on this idea.
While primitive in appearance, the MHP WHRG4DD Built-in Gas Grill does actually have some innovation to it. The best option for this grill is to make sure you get it with the anodized aluminum cooking grates. These are incredible grates that transfer heat better than anything ever developed. They will also last for decades. When you put these grates with the high heat output of this cast aluminum grill and you have a powerhouse that can sear a steak, but still put a light touch on a fillet of fish.
There are a lot of flashy and shiny grills on the market these days and this isn’t one of them, but for the price and power, it is one of the best options for an inexpensive outdoor kitchen. The best part is that you won’t have to worry about it rusting out in a couple of years and needing to be replaced. Few tasks are worse than replacing a gas grill in a custom enclosure. With the MHP WHRG4DD, you won’t have to worry about that.
Since the company has been in business for decades you don’t have to worry about parts, if by some chance you need them. This grill can also hold infrared burners that can be easily swapped out with the standard configuration. I wouldn’t, however, worry about that. This grill can reach temperatures close to infrared with just the standard burners. Just remember, when you buy this grill, get MHP’s aluminum cooking grates. They are the best on the market.
