Texas Style Pulled Pork Rub

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons paprika
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons granulated onion
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Mexican oregano
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper more as desired
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt


  • Mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl. Apply liberally all over pork roast. Gently sprinkly on a lightly pat sub onto meat. Cook as directed.
  • If making rub ahead of time, simply store in an airtight container in the cupboard for up 6 months after preparation.
