CONS
- Not Very Modern
- Simple Design
The Chicago Combustion Company, later known as LazyMan, began manufacturing gas burners in the early 1930s. When they discovered that these burners were being used for cooking, they developed the first commercial gas broiler, called the Broilburger, which was showcased at the 1939 World’s Fair. This led to the claim that LazyMan was the inventor of the gas grill, and there is a small nugget of truth to this assertion.
Today, operating under the name LazyMan, the company is concentrated on the competitive high-end gas grill market. LazyMan manufactures excellent grills, but they have not gained much recognition due to a lack of marketing. Despite claiming to have invented the gas grill, this is not entirely accurate. In reality, they invented the commercial gas-powered broiler and only entered the gas grill market after it had already been established.
LazyMan Masterpiece Features
What are the key aspects of the the LazyMan Masterpiece? This grill features a 48,000 BTU, 4-burner system with 540 square inches of primary grilling space. It uses a ceramic briquette barrier between the stainless steel cooking grates and the standard tubular burners. The construction is made of high-quality stainless steel. This grill delivers great performance and offers several optional upgrades.
This gas grill isn’t a bad choice, but given the abundance of high-end grills available, it may not be your top pick. There are many more contemporary-looking grills on the market, and the LazyMan Masterpiece struggles to stand out.
