Despite some claims that they are fragile, they are not as delicate as some companies suggest, especially when compared to those that make metal Kamado grills. Recently, there have been several metal Kamado grills to choose from, some varying in quality and price. Most metal Kamado grills have two layers of steel with insulation between these layers. The Blaze Kamado, however, is made of one-inch thick cast aluminum.

The advantages of using cast aluminum certainly start with a stronger material that will last a long time. This 20-inch diameter grill weighs around 161 pounds or considerably less than any comparable ceramic. While still heavy, it is much easier to move than the competition and will not break if dropped.The cooking grates and hardware on this grill are made of stainless steel. The top cap is a stainless steel vent fitted into a cast base. The top vent is not removable and can leak rainwater into the grill if it is left exposed.
The construction quality of the Blaze Kamado Grill is very high.
