Full Review – Broil King Regal S 690

PROS

  • Packed with Extras
  • Very Versatile
  • Good Rotisserie System
  • Drawers
  • Good Burner Design

CONS

  • Weak Side Burner
  • Gimmicky

This large gas grill has two independent cooking chambers, one with 4 burners and one with 2 burners. There is also a full rotisserie system with a rear-mounted burner (not infrared) and a side burner. This gill is one of the most versatile on the market. It allows you to operate the rotisserie easily while grilling steaks in the other chamber. You can grill hot and fast on one side and low and indirect on the other. If these advantages sound good to you, then this is an excellent grill for you to consider. If the two lids and divided cooking space don’t appeal, try the Broil King Regal S590.

Broil King Regal S 690 Valves and Burners

Mechanically, the key features that stand out are the dual tube stainless steel burners and the linear flow control valves. The dual tube burners equalize the gas pressure inside the burner so that the heat is even from front to back. Standard tubular burners tend to have higher pressure in the front of the burner and can give you uneven heating. The Broil King burners correct this problem.

The control valves provide an even, highly precise flow that offers a high level of heat control. Add in the four-burner design, and this grill will let you choose an exact temperature from very high to very low.
This grill is constructed well, and with proper care, it will last for many years.
