Full Review – Char-Broil Signature 530 4-Burner Gas Grill

Just to be clear, this is not one of Char-Broil’s infrared gas grills. The Char-Broil Signature 530 4-Burner Gas Grill is a standard, four-burner grill with a side burner. Looking at the specifications, you will find that this grill produces only 32,000 BTUs under its 530 square inches of cooking space, similar to the power of their infrared models but delivering a lot less heat.

This Char-Broil Signature 530 has decent features, but its power is less than ideal. Due to its appearance and size, this is a compromise unit. In this price range, I don’t recommend purchasing large grills with shiny metal. The trade-off is lower-quality materials and components. Surprisingly, the side burner is powerful. At 13,000 BTUs, it can heat a good-sized pot quickly and effectively. But that shouldn’t be the main reason for buying this grill.

This gas grill is widely available and certainly looks nice. It should last a few summers and can do what most backyard cooks need it to, like grilling some burgers and steaks. If you’ve read this far, you are probably not impressed with the Char-Broil Signature 530. You shouldn’t be. I recommend you go back and look at my recommendations for the best gas grills in this price range or even the best gas grills between $250 and $500.

PROS

  • Large cooking area
  • Powerful side burner

CONS

  • Thin materials
  • Limited construction quality
