PROS
- Grill and Griddle in One
- Stainless Steel Construction
- Good Heat Output
CONS
- Lightweight Construction
- Prone to Rust
- Quality Control Issues
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you know how big flat-top grills have entered the outdoor cooking business. The thing is, as soon as a new product becomes popular in the space, the combination grills start showing up. This model from Dyna-Glo (exclusive to Home Depot) is one such grill. It has a standard four-burner gas grill on one side and 200 square inches of gas-powered griddle on the other. Now, you can do both kinds of cooking without having to put a griddle on the gas grill or own two different cookers.
In actuality, this is a combination that makes sense. Yes, you can purchase separate griddle inserts for your gas grill. However, since both of these cooking techniques are gas-powered, adding the large griddle to the unit isn’t a bad idea. It would create plenty of space to carry out both cooking styles at the same time. While an accessory would solve the problem, I know that there are people considering this grill. The issue isn’t the design, but with so many big-box products, it’s in the execution.

This grill is a large, shiny, stainless steel unit that costs around $550. It isn’t exactly inexpensive, but it offers some decent value for what you receive. However, to maintain that price point and distribute profit along the way, some quality compromises were made. After all, despite its size, this grill weighs less than 130 pounds. A good grill should be heavy. It needs the mass of steel to cook evenly and well. Also, the cooking grates should have a substantial weight. Unfortunately, with the Dyna-Glo 4-Burner, you won’t find that.
Does the Dyna-Glo 4-Burner Deliver?
This lightweight grill is made of low-quality stainless steel, and prone to rusting and corrosion. And yes, I am aware that a good steel griddle requires seasoning and care, but without quality, regular maintenance can only go so far. Add to this a lack of quality control and you get a grill that simply doesn’t deliver, even at its low price point.
