Introduction
Twin Eagles are renowned for their craftsmanship. They build high-quality, stainless steel grills, and a complete line of outdoor kitchen equipment. And they are one of the best in the business. The one characteristic that people always point out about them is the beauty of their products. They are known for their clean and elegant design. But don’t think that there isn’t substance to these grills. They are powerful, packed with features, and have a solid build quality. You won’t go wrong by picking one of these products.
Why Twin Eagles?
If you are looking to equip a custom outdoor kitchen, you really should look at Twin Eagles. Yes, there are many brands out there in this price range, but Twin Eagles is one of the leaders. Many gas grills in this price range (their most expensive grill exceeds $13,000USD) are loaded with extras. While Twin Eagles give you all the extras, that isn’t their focus. They have the best attention to detail. What you get is an attractive grill, built to exacting precision.
To be clear, Twin Eagles gas grills are powerful. There is an old method for determining the comparative heat output of a gas grill. In general, a powerful grill will burn through 100 BTUs per square inch. This does not take into account the efficiency of the grill or any other factor. For the 36-inch Twin Eagles grill, we get 117 BTUs per square inch when on high. This is hot.
The construction quality here is extremely high. From the cooking grates to the burners to the firebox construction, you are getting the best. All of these gas grills are made from 14 gauge 304 stainless steel with a high polish finish. And all of this is wrapped up in a very good warranty that includes a lifetime warranty on much of the grill.
Who is Twin Eagles
Twin Eagles and its sister company Delta Heat are the brainchildren of Dante Cantal. Dante got his start designing gas appliances for White Westinghouse, U.S. Range, and General Electric. After years in the business, Dante started Lynx Grills. with his partner Dale Seiden. After nearly a decade of running Lynx, Dante left to found Twin Eagles while Dale left to found Alfresco Open Air Culinary Systems.
Dante Cantal is considered one of the greatest grill designers in history. He founded Twin Eagles to further explore his idea of what an outdoor kitchen should be. In 2021, Twin Eagles were acquired by the Dometic Group, a multibillion-dollar company based in Sweden.
Where are Twin Eagles Gas Grills Made?
Twin Eagles Gas Grills and all their other grills, modular side burners,, and outdoor kitchen products are manufactured in Cerritos, California. They are located a dozen miles southwest of Los Angelos.
Twin Eagles Outdoor Kitchens
You can buy Twin Eagles gas grills on carts. However, many retailers sell the carts separately or as an accessory to the grill. This is because these grills are typically used for outdoor kitchens. The whole idea behind this company was to make a better outdoor kitchen. Twin Eagles manufactures everything you need for a custom installation. And every piece is made with the same exacting precision.
If you are looking at this line of gas grills because you are planning an outdoor kitchen, I suggest you take a look at the variety of doors and drawers that Twin Eagles has to offer. Again, all 304 stainless steel construction with the best hardware.
What makes this a Great Grill?
I’ve talked a lot about how good a grill the Twin Eagles is. Let’s dig into the components to see where the strengths and weaknesses lie.
The Burners

I’m going to be honest here. If you look at comparable grills to Twin Eagles you find that Fire Magic uses cast stainless steel burners in their Echelon Diamond Series. Lynx offers what they call a cast ceramic burner. Not all gas grills at this level have cast burners, but several do. Twin Eagles relies on stainless steel tubular U-type burners. Yes, you find these on other high-end gas grills, but a know a lot of consumers will question this.
The truth is, a heavy gauge tubular burner is nearly as good as a cast metal burner. They have long durability and will perform consistently for well over a decade. The Twin Eagles burners might not be innovative, but they are masterfully engineered and will work through thousands of hours of cook time. Competitors might put down these burners, but in many cases, the cast burners are more about marketing than performance.
Twin Eagles also offers an internal infrared sear burner. This optional upgrade gives you a dedicated sear zone for high-temperature grilling. This is perfect for that restaurant-quality steak.
The Cooking Grates

The cooking surface on this grill is hexagonal grates. These are stainless steel ‘rod’ grates, but instead of the more traditional round rod, are six sides. This gives a flatter surface for better contact heat and excellent searing. I would also like to point out that round rod grates actually cause foods to stick more. What you put on the grill will conform to the space of the cooking grids and with a rounded shape,, foods tend to stick more.
These grates are heavy and solidly welded. They absorb and hold a great deal of heat. And with the flat top surface,, you get superior surface contact.
The Cooking System
The cooking system on the Twin Eagles is not revolutionary. Under the cooking grates are trays of high-quality ceramic briquettes for heat distribution. There are stainless steel zone dividers so that you can be searing steaks next to slow grilling chicken. Having different temperatures across the grill surface great expands the versatility of this grill.
The briquette trays can be removed for easy cleaning and the briquettes can be replaced as needed. For basic maintenance, remove the trays, remove debris and turn the briquettes over.
The burners, including the rotisserie burner, are all lit by a reliable hot surface ignition system. This not only lights the burners but keeps them lit for safety. These ignitors are vastly superior to the old-school spark ignitors that tend to fail after a couple of years.
These grills do come with a sealed, large-capacity smoker box. This is not a drawer and needs to be accessed inside the grill. This makes it difficult to refill while cooking. There is also no dedicated smoker burner. On the other hand, you can position the smoker box wherever you need it. Note that you will not get barbecue-level smoke production, but you will be able to add some smoke flavor to foods.
The Rotisserie System
This is a two-position rotisserie system so you can always get the right distance between the food and the burner.
The Details
The one detail that Twin Eagles really excels at is the seamless welds. Yes, most gas grills in this price range and constructed this way, but Twin Eagles put extra attention into hiding the connections between each piece of metal. Similarly, each piece from the lid to the doors and drip pan has exact, even, and near-perfect gaps. Everything just fits together so perfectly.

Twin Eagles Gas Grill Review
Summary
The 36-inch built-in version of the Twin Eagles grill is their best seller. It is the size that fits most people’s needs and offers all the versatility. Larger sizes are simply for capacity. You only need the 54-inch version if you are a country club or event space. What you get with this model are three burners that can produce up to 750 BTU’s under 640 square inches of cooking space.
This model has all the features that I have been talking about, so you get everything here. This model is available as a drop-in grill insert, or freestanding. I consider this model to be one of the best grills ever made and while you can spend more, you definitely don’t have to.
Warranty
LIMITED FIVE YEAR WARRANTY: Twin Eagles warrants the stainless steel briquette trays, sear zone burners, rotisserie burners, and drip pans to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for a period of five years from the original date of purchase. The actual part will be repaired or replaced, free of charge, with the owner paying for all other costs including labor, shipping, and handling.
LIMITED TWO YEAR WARRANTY: Twin Eagles warrants all other grill components to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use for a period of two years from the original date of purchase. The actual part will be repaired or replaced, free of charge, with the owner paying for all other costs including labor, shipping, and handling.
Other Models
The Twin Eagles Gas Grill comes in 30, 36, 42, and 54-inch versions. The 30-inch model is a simple, two-burner grill without the rotisserie system. This makes a good secondary grill, but I feel that its lack of size, versatility, and features do not make it a good choice. The 54-inch version is a four-burner grill with dual rotisserie burners. This is a huge gas grill with 1,000 square inches of main cooking space. This is a huge grill, capable of cooking more than 40 burgers at a time.
I consider the 36 and 42-inch versions to be much more customer-friendly sizes.
Other Grills
Of course, Twin Eagles has much more offer than gas grills. In fact, they are one of the few high-end grill makers to offer a pellet grill. They also have their elite Eagle One brand as well as a flattop grill drop-in for outdoor kitchens.
Twin Eagles Eagle One
What you get with this very high-end line, aside from a bigger price tag, are a number of upgrades. Much of this is not necessary or does not dramatically improve the grills. The Eagle One grills have everything I have listed above. The upgrades consist of some added features to the control panel lighting, like a temperature indicator and ambient lighting. These grills also have heavier cooking grates. Aside from that, there isn’t much added value here, which is why I don’t generally recommend the Eagle One.
Flat Top Grills
Twin Eagles offers all the typical side burners that you would expect from a company that specializes in outdoor kitchens. They also offer drop-in flattop or griddle units. These are built with the same quality that you find in all their products and offer a nice versatility to your outdoor cooking.
The Pellet Grill
There is also a pellet grill from this company. Currently, this is the most expensive pellet grill on the market, but it offers a number of great features. If you are interested, I have a full review of this pellet smoker for you to look at.
Delta Heat
Delta Heat is a more affordable line of products. This is also a full line of outdoor kitchen products and it is made in the same factory as its pricier sibling. But where a three-burner Twin Eagles grill can cost over $7,000, the same sized Delta Heat will be just over $3,000. Now, of course, there is a drop in the thickness and quality of materials, but in my opinion, Delta Heat is the best value in its price range.
Twin Eagles Gas Grills versus Fire Magic
If there is a gas grill that is going to go head to head with Twin Eagles, it is probably the Fire Magic Echelon Aurora. Both of these are high-priced, high quality gas grills. They have very similar power output and sizes. When you compare similar models between these two you will find that Fire Magic is a little more money. Fire Magic, however, does offer features you will not find with Twin Eagles.
Conclusions
In the Luxury Outdoor Kitchen Market, Twin Eagles is a leader. They build some of the best equipment that money can buy. The recent purchase of the company by Dometic should change much. Yes, Dante Cantal is moving into retirement and will no longer be shepherding this company. But with years of experience and Dometic’s focus on luxury products, Twin Eagles will be around for many years to come. If you are in the market for outdoor kitchen products, these should be at the top of your list.

One response to “Twin Eagles Gas Grill Review”
While Twin Eagles is known as top of the line manufacturer of fine grills they are NOT immune to failures but one would think that a $7000 grill would be produced with higher standards that it actual is. Having owned my freestanding 42 grill since 2010 a number of issues have cropped up. Mind you I cover the grill each and every time after use. The duct work to direct ignition to each the 3 burners rusted out and had to be replaced at my expense. The high sear unit developed a crack that eventually spread across the unit and cause it to cease functioning, also paid to be replaced. Two of the blue LED panel lights quit requiring a new harness assembly, at my expense. Fasteners that held the rotisserie support bracket rusted through, a trip to the hardware store to fix. Door hinges rusted and I had to order/purchase replacements. Ceramic holders deteriorated at about the 5 year mark which I had to replaced. The middle one is now looking marginal. I’m on the third thermometer, each of the previous ones stopped working completely. The vinyl cover had to be replaced since the seams fell apart. Current one is deteriorating rapidly. A $7,000 plus grill should NOT have all of these failures. To top things off, replacement parts are quite expensive but still not any better than the parts they replaced. So, FYI just because something is expensive DOES NOT mean its quality is superior.
